Local editing. Optional AI.

Effective date: 14 October 2026

Swish is a phone app that makes photos move and edits video. It's made by Rootlex Technologies Pvt Ltd ("we"). This page says plainly what stays on your phone, what leaves it, who gets it and how long it's kept.

What stays on your phone

All editing, previews, the 40 effects, sky swap, looks, Motion Brush, text, audio mixing, Enhance (Fast and Ultra) and export. Skies, music, sound effects, fonts and templates are built into the app, so nothing is downloaded while you edit. Your projects, your photos and videos, your AI chat history and My elements stay on the phone and are never uploaded to us. Sharing goes through your phone's own share sheet.

The app has no ads, no analytics and no crash-reporting tools built in.

What goes to Google when you sign in

Swish asks you to continue with Google the first time you open it. Sign-in runs on Google's Firebase Authentication, which gives Swish your name, email address, profile photo and a user id. Swish uses them to sign you in and to link a Swish Pro subscription to you, and doesn't write them into your projects. After that first sign-in, Swish opens offline too.

What goes to Google when you use AI edit

AI edit, the assistant in Swish, is optional. Nothing is sent until you send a request. AI edit uses a Gemini API key you add yourself, and your phone sends each request straight to Google's Gemini API under that key; the Swish server is not involved. A request carries your prompt, recent chat and project details, with up to 8 frames to start (photos up to 1280 px, or 1920 px when Gemini looks closer; video frames up to 640 px). Gemini can ask for more frames in small batches. For requests about speech, up to 60 seconds of a clip's sound; a short clip's sound goes with your first request automatically. When you speak a request instead of typing it, a short recording of your voice goes too. For a generative photo edit, the photo itself (up to 1536 px).

Google handles these requests under the terms of your Gemini API key (Google AI Studio), not under Swish's. Swish never receives your prompts, frames or audio. Your key stays in your phone's secure storage and is never sent to Swish. Your full videos are never uploaded, and the edit itself is made and exported on your phone. AI edit doesn't make new video: it uses the same tools you'd use by hand.

When you report an AI reply

If an AI reply is wrong or harmful, you can report it from inside the app. A report stores your user id, the reason you picked, the note you add (if any) and the text of the reply you reported. We keep reports for up to 1 year to review them for safety, then delete them.

Swish Pro and payments

Swish Pro is a paid subscription. Payments are made through Razorpay (UPI AutoPay or card), and Razorpay processes them under its own privacy policy. Swish never sees your card, UPI or bank details.

To know who has Swish Pro, the Swish server keeps your Firebase user id, your Razorpay customer id, your email address, your subscription id, your plan and its status.

Who else gets your data

Only the services above, and only for what they're described doing: Google (sign-in; and AI edit, which your phone sends to Google directly under your own key) and Razorpay (payments). We don't sell your data, and we don't share it for advertising. We'd disclose it only if the law required us to.

How long we keep it

Deleting your account

In the app, go to Settings, then Account, then Delete account. It cancels any active Swish Pro AutoPay, deletes your billing records and AI reports on the Swish server, and deletes your sign-in account. Projects on your phone are left alone. Read exactly what's deleted, and what to do if you can't open the app.

Your choices

You can use Swish without AI edit: then nothing about your projects leaves the phone. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to contact@rootlex.com. Swish isn't meant for children: if you're under 18, use it only with a parent's or guardian's permission.
